Split Moong beans with their skin left intact, ORNA Organic Moong Dal Chilka is extremely easy to cook, needs no soaking and is easy to digest. It is low in saturated fat and cholesterol and is free of flatulence causing agents. This makes it an acceptable food for those recovering from illness and is also a nutritious food for babies. This dal is also rich in calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, foliate and vitamin B. It also containsappreciable amount of vitamin C.
Cover the moong beans with about three times their volume of cold water and leave them to soak overnight. When ready, drain the beans and rinse in a sieve under running water.Add them to a pan of boiling water and cook for approximately 1 hour. Boil rapidly for 30 minutes, then turn down the heat and let them on simmer for the next 10 minutes or until completely cooked.
