Product Details:Sonamasuri Handpounded Rice is the one that one has seen getting cooked regularly in Grandparents’ home. The rice is not pearly white like the polished rice but slightly off-white in color but not exactly brown. Unlike Brown Rice, which retains all of the bran and germ while only the husk is removed from either the raw or par boiled rice, a stone pounder is used in a mortar to remove the husk and some of the bran to get the Handpounded Rice. It is cooked the same way as we do for normal rice and does not turn to mush that easily.
Cooking Tip :Wash the rice in several changes of water till it runs clear before soaking it for about 20-30 minutes. Then cook the usual way.
